Making the perfect Birthday Cake has never seemed so overwhelming. There are so many gorgeous designs to choose from and some of the skill required ... well lets face it - can be a little daunting!

 

Womens Weekly have a great Cake Book specially designed for Little People's Parties. At Twiggi we recomend if you are going to get creative, attempt a trial cake the week prior to the party so you can iron out any problems you may stumple accross with the Birthday Cake.

 

A little bit of creativity can go along way and to present an amazing birthday cake make sure you have an amazingly gorgeous Cake Stand.. These retail for around $30 at homewares stores but worth every penny. We have a tradition in our family to use the same Cake Stand for every birthday party and it is a gorgeous ceramic number with droplet hearts all the way around, really.. it makes a basic Chocolate Cake look fabulous!

 

Heres our top tips:

 

* Don't choose the most difficult cake around for your first attempt.

* Having a few Cupcakes will keep littlies happy as they can find a big slice of cake a little overwhelming sometimes.

* Have a trial run a week prior to the Birthday Party

* If all else fails - Nan may be able to help out!
