When the world went Poladot Mad - Kate decided to do something fun about... Along came Sambellina - yay!

What prompted you to start Sambellina.....

My philosophy behind starting Sambellina was based on "Why cant I buy ......?" The easiest part about designing for Sambellina, is that I am the customer - I find I get so excited to think about something I would like to buy but can't seem to find it, and then set about creating it.
There is a definite trend towards having parties at home, but there is often quite a bit of pressure involved with pulling it all together. I wanted to offer products that would help to easily add a special touch or stylish twist to home parties but still being affordable.

What would you say is your style ..... ?

I love classic, simple and sweet designs.

What do you use for party inspiration ..... ?

As my children are getting older, I have started to find the things that work and are really easy to arrange and look special without the headaches.

Depending on the age, my children LOVE to be part of the organising "team" and really builds up the excitement. Usually it all starts with the theme (decided by the kids) and invitation (usually decided by me) which then sets the colour scheme. Once you can visualise the colours, food ideas can often flow to tie it all back in.

The internet is an amazing resource these days for party inspiration - both online party stores, and gorgeous party blogs for ideas. My favourite parties are ones that keep the traditional simple elements but look beautiful and children are excited to be at.

Tips for being organised for a party ....

I'm a list person - I tend to imagine in my head exactly how the party will play out and then think about what I need for each step. For some, party planning is a creative joy, but for some it is very stressful.
For me, I think there are only a few things you need to make it just that little bit more special and stress-free.

- Try to avoid the "middle of the night" cake icing disaster. Almost everyone has an icing horror story, so if you can outsource, hide it under Smarties, or use a cupcake tower to relieve some pre-party stress.

- Helium balloons. So effective to easy add to the party atmosphere ( I personally can't get enough of them). Also there is a lot of beautiful bunting available that also quickly sets the party scene.

- Traditional easy to organise games . Musical statues. Pin the 'something' on the 'something'. A bubble machine (you will be amazed how long this will entertain kids, they bounce, dance and laugh for hours under bubbles and will bring out the shyest of kids). Simple easy fun.

- Children love to see anything with their name on - straws with names on it, take home lolly bags, place settings, their initial on a cupcake or party hat, anything.

- Where possible, set out everything so that guests can help themselves. Drinks in an ice bucket, set out glasses, water bottles, or party cups. Serviettes and plates all in one spot. All so that you can have some fun and time to relax too.

- Most of all, ask a willing friend or family member to take lots of happy snaps....it is a memory that will be treasured, even with those icing nightmares.

I have been obsessed with purses and bags ever since I was a little girl... My dad still tells me nearly everytime we catch up, how I would run around the house collecting things to pop in a bag or purse... Family friends and neighbours would always pass on their pre-loved purses to me, as they new about my addiction Smile!

I have quite happily passed the same obsession onto my 2 children Chloe and Cooper ( yep, Coops too loves his bags and wallets, shoving them full of cars and what not...)

It is with great excitement I stumbled accross the gorgeous handmade purses from Jojobi Designs and I just had to share them with you!! We think they make great pressies and Jojo has offered all Twiggi friends Free Post when you mention how you found her!!

Quickly rush over and check them out as I am sure they will be gone as quick as I can say Merry Christmas ( nearly that quick anyway!!)

Enjoy xx

So happy to stumble accross the fabulous online store - Little Billies.

Our house is in complete chaos some days and juggling work , kinder, social comitments can some days be chaotic.

I would like to show off a great product available from Little Billies that will make the mornings in any crazy house seem blissful,

Introducing Mornings:

My Morning Routine Chart
This Morning Routine Chart provides parents with a fun and structured approach to the morning. A great teaching tool for young children who are just starting to learning the routine of the morning and a great visual reminder for school-aged children as they learn to take on the responsibility for themselves.

Benefits
Whether you are a relaxed, easygoing type of parent who likes to keep things flexible and spontaneous, or love to be super-organised and stick to a pretty tight schedule, some routine is good for all children and families. A good routine caters for the needs of family members and fits well with other priorities. (source: www.raisingchildren.net.au)

Chart details
The chart is two, 29 x 11 cm sized magnets (so that you can have one upstairs or downstairs or in the kitchen and a bedroom). It comes personalised with the child's name, gender and colour preference. It includes 24 activity magnet-stickers, this is made up of tasks that are typical of a families routine.

24 magnets including:
bag in the car, breakfast, blank, brush hair, brush teeth, clothes ready, devotions, dressed, make bed, morning job, pack bag, pack lunch, pyjamas, shoes & socks, sun screen on, toilet trip, underwear, up on time, wash face, wash up.

3 x 'ready for the day magnets' that are the perfect reward tying in with the My Reward Chart.
